Cult of Meardor
The Beginning

Kutter Mugan opens the story walking the streets of Repintigny. He passes and exchanges words regarding a quest from his Goddess. Samoski and Oskorin Dunnhill search for Samoski’s lost cousins (Gundren, Tharden, and Nundro Rockseeker). A local said the cousins had past, falling victim to the Red Eye Fever. Finding a clue to the disappearance they meet with Amador and Cynwrig to help determine the origins of a fragment of cloth. The origin of the cloth is the cult of Meardor, who worship disease. The party is joined and proceeds to the cult’s Temple of Ngord.

At the Temple, the party entered and individually investigated. Oskorin noticed scuff marks leading to the alter. Amador asked an Acolyte about the possibility of joining and got a tour of the Temple, where she met the “Father” whose robe was torn.

Amador returned to inform the party who turned to seek the Father. He was gone, so the party began searching as the Acolyte had to return to his duties. They moved back into a well apportioned living chamber, where Oskorin found a secret trap door leading into an earthen cave. This opened to a stone lined passage way, when the party heard squeaking voices followed by the Father’s voice.

Continuing they spy Father addressing a group of four rat like humanoids. Amador charged and cast Thunder Wave, tumbling the ratlings. One tumbled into a cage from which tentacles enveloped the ratling and looked to pull his soul from his body, leaving a carcass with glowing red eyes. Combat ensues with the characters quickly dispatching their enemies. Samoski struck down the Priest with a Guilding Bolt screaming “This is for my cousins.”

The creature was a black otherworldly slug which Samoski burnt with oil and sacred flame. Thus ended the Cult of Meardor and the Red Eye Fever infected no more hosts.
